Artists Ellen Sandbeck and Moira Villiard presented their exhibit "Endangered" on Friday, Aug. 10 in the Dr. Robert Powless Cultural Center.
In this exhibit, paper-cut artist Ellen Sandbeck and painter Moira Villiard explored human impact on the environment through two lenses. On one side of the exhibit, endangered species lined the wall in the form of intricate paper-cut images illuminating a broad spectrum of vulnerable biodiversity. On the other side, illustrations depicted the history of wild ricing and what’s at stake in the face of sulfide mining. The art exhibit was on display through Aug. 31. Photos by Ivy Vainio
