Curated by Angela Two Stars, The Bring Her Home Exhibit opened in Minneapolis at the All My Relations Gallery. It highlighted the deeply ingrained exploitation and abuse of Indigenous women, working in the name of the regional push against sexual exploitation and January as Sex Trafficking Awareness Month, as well as the nationwide #MMIW campaign. The collection focused on the individual, paying respect to every woman affected by this violence, and artists and guest speakers from around the midwest took a stand for those who have been lost to the epidemic, speaking with passion from deeply personal experiences.
This exhibit had been on the road for almost a year, and its last stop was here, at AICHO. It featured works from Shan Goshorn, Luzene Hill, Laura Youngbird, Kayeri Akweks, Hillary Kempenich, Chholing Taha, Cara Romero, and more. A new exhibit, part of the same movement, has opened as of February, and is open to visitors in Minneapolis.
