Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light (MNIPL) Arrowhead members presented AICHO with their fundraising check of $6,086.61 for our rooftop Solar Array project. MNIPL have been key partners all the way through this project, and have worked with AICHO to petition the MN Public Utilities Commission and Minnesota Power an ALLETE Company to invest in low-income solar programing. MNIPL also served on the project’s planning team! This $6,000+ donation is in large part due to the incredible giving from local donors and congregations including: the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Duluth - UUCD, Pilgrim Congregational UCC Duluth, the McCabe Chapter of the Izaak Walton League, the Duluth Clean Energy Team, Northstar Chapter of the Sierra Club, and many generous individuals. AICHO is very thankful and grateful for the community coming together to help AICHO become more environmentally sustainable. Read more...

This project was funded in part by Minnesota Power's SolarSense Low-Income Solar Program through an award of $24,600!

AICHO’s Climate and Cultural Resiliency Advisory Council met and discussed the CCR Grant as related to next year’s gardens, sustainability and cultural resiliency upcoming educational events, Vern Northrup’s upcoming photography exhibit and artist talk about the Anishinaabe cultural controlled (fire) burn that he was a part of at Madeline Island, and more. Jara McLarren also presented on “ReThink Waste” (Recycling Program) that she will help AICHO coordinate a garbage waste audit this month. We are getting things planned and people on board to help us combat climate change and challenges with cultural infused solutions.
