An incredible amount of children and families showed up for Mike Sullivan's storytelling event.Dr. Mike Sullivan (Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe) shared traditional Anishinaabe stories in the Anishinaabe language (followed by translation) on January 5, 2018 in the Dr. Robert Powless Cultural Center. A small feast of homemade chicken wild rice soup, frybread and cookes were provided. Almost 200 people attended. It was a beautiful, cultural evening.
Michael 'Migizi' Sullivan is an Anishinaabe linguist from the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Ojibwe. He is currently the linguist for the Waadookodaading Ojibwe Language Immersion School.
Aadizookaanan are traditional sacred teachings given through the form of storytelling in the wintertime among the Anishinaabeg.
Sponsored in part by the Enterprise Community Partners, Inc. Grant.
